There is something inherently dramatic about Sarah Walk’s songwriting. Perhaps because it seems the writer herself has been through all the ups and downs you can think of and isn’t scared to be open about it. Addressing addictions of both excess and the heart in her new album single ‘Wake Me Up’, there is an urgency sitting within the bars. Her voice lends itself perfectly to the charged piano that bangs all the emotion out of her very soul. A Minneapolis native, she’ll be jetting over to the UK in November for several shows before an album will arrive later this year. With this single though, she’s already proving herself to be one of the most honest writers out there. - SJ
